I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WEAR

Our wardrobes are crowded but we have nothing to wear. The reason for this is because of the wrong purchases we made over time, the gifts that we received, the changes in our weight, the clothes that we paid a lot of money only for fashion and then we couldn't afford to give to someone else, the clothes we kept for events that never seemed on the horizon ... for years I wanted it, it was like that. I still have a very crowded wardrobe even though it is quite simplified compared to the old version.

HOW DO I SIMPLIFY MY CABINET?

I was seriously thinking about this issue. I did research, read books, got ideas ... As a result, I met the method of a Japanese lady named Marie Kondo: Konmarie.
While the Konmarie Method simplifies our lives, it is like a road map that explains what we should do in turn. It starts with "Clothes", where we will see a relatively easy and psychologically significant and great effect. I will not cover the whole method here. Since our topic is crowded wardrobes, I will start with the clothes.

PILE UP ALL YOUR CLOTHES IN ONE AREA

First of all, you have to devote a whole day to do what is written here. Then I'm not saying collect all your clothes in one area, for example on your bed or on the floor in the living room, I say pile. Because you won't believe how much clothes you have. I mean all the clothes you have, everything you wear, from your beret, your coat, your underwear, your socks ... You bring all the items together, regardless of whether they belong to summer or winter. Then you take each piece and evaluate what it makes you feel. Marie Kondo asks each piece of clothing "Does it bring me joy?” Although she emphasizes the importance of doing this one by one, I couldn't do it one by one. At the beginning, it will be easily, you can easily eliminate some pieces. Then things get harder and harder.

I HAVE DIFFICULTY TO REMOVE SOME CLOTHES

Slowly you will full these kind of thouhts.  I gave a lot of money to this, it is not happening on me but I will lose weight anyway, I can wear it at the wedding in the summer if there is one, it was a gift so it would be a shame if I give it to someone. Get all this out of your head. There is no need to keep evening dress for a wedding that has no date. Likewise, you gave a lot of money but you don't wear it, then buy from second hand apps and take back some of your money. Look again at the dresses that you do not wear but think it would be a shame if you dispose of them, you are not wearing them anyway. If you dispose of it, nobody will notice, and even if they do, it will not be as important as you think. And most importantly, what I will wear when I lose weight. When you lose weight, wouldn't it be more enjoyable to reward yourself with new clothes suitable for your new size?

SORT ITEMS INTO THE THREE SECTIONS

Keep, Go and Maybe. Place the items you will continue to use properly in your closet. When placing your items in drawers and shelves, be careful not to overlap them, but to keep them upright and to see them all at once. Believe me, it is a method that saves lazy people. The article about this will be here after a while.

3 MONTHS RULE

The things you can't decide on, those that have moral value to you ... put them in a box, bag and remove them. Let's see if they will come to your mind in the next 3 months or will you use it? Even put the date of today on this box or bag so that when you see it later, it will hit you in a more real way how long you have not used these items.

ASK FIRST TO YOUR CLOSE CIRCLE

For the clothes which will go, start first with your close circle. Ask your family and friends, this is not a shame. Didn't all of us wear our older brother, sister, cousin's clothes and play with their toys while we growing up? They don't use it anyway, it would be a shame, leave your assumptions aside, ask your loved ones first.

Then take a look at those in need around you. I put some of the good-condition clothes such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, tracksuits, socks, hats, gloves ... in small bags piece by piece and carried them to the back seat of my vehicle for a long time. I gave it to children selling handkerchiefs at the lights and to a homeless women in the mornings on Istanbul Büyükdere Avenue. Other alternatives may be clothes boxes, second-hand sales and donation sites. Even if you want to watch a detailed video on separating both second-hand items and old toys, you can watch my video named Collecting Toys-Minimalism 4 on my youtube channel.

When you do this for the first time, you will feel a dramatic simplification in your wardrobe and a magnificent lightening in your soul. This feeling will take you for a long time, but you will want to feel the same and simplify in other areas of your home. However, you will want to take this one day and simplify all the items maybe once a year or more than once as you wish. Second time you need to pay attention to will be here very soon.

Yours ...
